An eSIM is a SIM card that is built into your phone. Instead of inserting a card, you install a profile. Your normal SIM stays where it is.
Does my phone work with eSIM?
Most newer phones support eSIM, for example iPhone XS, XR and newer. Dial *#06#: if you see an EID, your phone supports eSIM.
When should I install the eSIM?
Ideally a few days before your trip, at home on Wi-Fi. Your days only start when you first connect at your destination.
Do I keep my number and WhatsApp?
Yes. The eSIM is for data only. Your SIM stays in your phone and WhatsApp keeps working with your own number.
What does unlimited mean?
Every day you get 2 GB at full speed. After that you keep browsing without a limit, just slower, up to 1 Mbit/s depending on the country. WhatsApp, maps and email keep working. The exact speed is shown on the page of your country.
I am travelling through several countries. Which eSIM do I need?
For Europe there is one eSIM for 33 countries. For other countries you take one eSIM per country. Your phone can store several eSIMs.
Can I add days later?
No. Choose as many days as your trip lasts right away. If you need more after all, buy a new eSIM, ideally while you still have internet.
